Dear Members and Friends of the Mid-Atlantic Pathwork,
It’s been a challenging year to say the least. Financial concerns, illness and death, isolation, climate crises and political division have come together to create a collective tapestry in our society of fear, pain, and grief. I would dare to say we have all been touched in some way by this unprecedented time.
The Mid-Atlantic Pathwork has also had its share of challenges, and yet we are weaving a new tapestry with threads that are coming together to create a bold, colorful future. Among the many threads that make up this labor of love, here are a few that stand out:
Faith. Even and especially when the future is uncertain, The Guide teaches us that the only way out is through, and that every obstacle is but a gateway to the deepest truth that we are the love and peace we are seeking, and we already have everything we need. To summon the courage to rely on faith invites a vulnerability that has power beyond measure.
Vision. There is something that calls us from beyond the outer events of our lives. Whether or not we are consciously aware of it, this thread tugs on our heartstrings and pulls us to the horizon of our known world, then invites us to step into the abyss. It is the light that guides us home in the midst of darkness.
Community. The warmth and intimacy of sacred soul friends challenges us, touches us, inspires us and supports us on a journey we cannot make alone. Even when we only connect virtually, the golden thread of connection is a very strong bond.
Throughout this difficult year, we have navigated significant challenges by summoning faith, focusing on vision, and leaning on the support of our community.
Looking back we are so proud of all we have accomplished this year:
We launched a new PTP1 class in the fall of 2020 - the first class with our newly developed curriculum. These pioneering souls have met online all year and will be gathering for the first time at Sevenoaks in August.
We are in the process of forming 3 new PTP classes for the fall of 2021. We are launching a new PTP1 class, a PTP2 class for Core Energetics graduates, and a PTP3 class for Barbara Brennan Graduates. Partnering with these modalities that share part of their history and teaching with Pathwork is very exciting for us.
We launched a new program entitled Dying Into Life, that was led by Darlene Rollins and which is modeled after the Year 5 PTP class many of you remember. We are planning on offering that again as a stand alone program later this year.
Sacred Dimensions continued in an online format that, to our collective surprise, worked amazingly well — an average of 17 students participated in each of the 4 modules that Erena Bramos offered this past year, and this next year we look forward to returning to our home of Sevenoaks in November.
Growing With Pathwork Studies (GPS), our free online Lecture Study series, is well attended in its third year and draws an international audience. This year the theme has been centered around “Full Spectrum Pathwork.”
We have been hard at work in the midst of a year long Revisioning Process, and have compiled a list of over 100 visionary goals for our organization that will be further distilled and prioritized when the leadership meets in August. We look forward to sharing them with the larger community and beginning the implementation phase soon!
We have co-created a new protocol for Compassionate Reflection and Conflict Resolution, and formed a Mediation Circle that will aid in the implementation of the protocol while supporting us in living the Pathwork principles and Stages of Commitment.
We have formed The Council of Elders, a group of senior Helpers interested in mentoring and supporting Sevenoaks and MAP leadership.
We hired a marketing consultant, Marcelo Justo, and a marketing assistant, Peri Crush, who are supporting us in expanding our reach while freeing Helpers up to teach Pathwork. We are grateful for their support, and so very grateful for the donations from the community that made it possible.
We are thrilled to be in the process of re-opening Sevenoaks Retreat Center to Pathwork programs and rental partners. Our Pathwork Community Weekend is July 30-Aug. 1st, and we’d love to have you join us to reconnect with community, anchor in the sacred land, breathe, laugh, and relax.
As you can see, we have been hard at work creating and recreating, visioning and revisioning, planning and implementing the very foundation of our organization from the ground up! There is more work to be done, but we are celebrating what we have accomplished thus far and we invite you to join us!
It’s that time of year for membership renewal, and this year your Pathwork membership has more potential than ever before to help spread Pathwork around the globe. This is because we have modified the organization of our fiscal structure to create financial autonomy for Pathwork. Revenue from Pathwork Memberships will benefit our plans to expand Pathwork Development, and those who donate to the general fundraising campaign will have a choice in where their funds are directed. We’ll be sharing more on the Survive and Thrive campaign soon.
Coming out of the Pandemic we are reminded of all we deeply value, and we don’t take for granted all the support that has enabled us to continue our mission almost 50 years after Sevenoaks was founded. We are deeply grateful for your support, and look forward to your new or continued membership in the Mid-Atlantic Pathwork.
